Last Saturday, Tony took Afton shopping to spend some of her birthday money. She helped pick out a pair of hot pink sandals with little flowers on the top, and then they made their way to Toys-R-Us. The plan was to get a band-in-a-bucket sort of thing given Afton's new love affair with music class, and they did. However, Afton got so attached to another toy and cried so hard when they left, that Tony eventually took her back to Toys-R-Us to get it.
What, you might ask, could capture the dear two-year-old girl's heart? Let's just say that some kids like baby dolls and others like teddy bears, but Afton likes foot-and-a-half long, rubber sharks.
Afton has named him Brucey (after the shark in Finding Nemo).
Brucey went to the park with Afton that afternoon. Afton helped him go down the slide, but mostly she just hugged him a lot while saying, "Oh Brucey... Oh Brucey..."
That's my little girl! :)

A future oceanographer in the family! I think it's cute
There is going to be one crushed little girl when she finds out that Sharks eat other fish, mammals, humans. That will be the day the music dies for A-bear.
Fun! Does she sleep with it too?
How very strange to be so attached to such a scary creature. Just don't let her watch JAWS anytime soon. I think that she will like the book that I just got her at our book fair. Has a shark in it.
I knew I liked A-bear! You go girl! Dolls are boring.
Man, I wish CariƱa would love a shark rather than princesses. :)
