Despite some recent bouts of preferring her mother (for the first time in her entire 9 months of life!), Afton loves her dad.  

I'm a monkey's uncle

Afton got a visit from her Uncle Jordan this weekend. It was a short visit, but we had fun. My favorite comment during the uncle-niece bonding was, "I'm still not quite used to drool."

Babysitting Anyone?

Afton's not so good in the stranger (e.g. anyone who is not her parents) department these days. The other day her grandparents were gracious enough to come up and spend the afternoon with her while we went to a matinee (our third date in nine months). My favorite part of their report was when they assured us, "She was very good. She only cried the first hour and then she was fine."



Incidentally, we left Afton with a neighbor girl a couple weeks ago so we could go to a church meeting, and as we left Tony said, "I feel like we're leaving the lamb with the lion -- and Afton's not the lamb." According to the neighbor girl Afton was good "for the first fifteen minutes," which was code for, "she screamed the other forty-five."  Sigh.
